columbus-dispatch

I worked for The Columbus Dispatch as a general assignment features intern during the summer of 2013. I wrote stories on daily and weekly deadlines and pitched the ideas for most of my published stories.

PostI  became involved with this independent daily publication before even picking my freshman classes at Ohio University and have since worked as a stringer, staffer and assistant section editor. I’m the 2013-14 assistant managing editor.

I credit my experience with the Herald Times for providing the backbone of my journalism knowledge. In three-plus years working for my hometown semiweekly, I wrote news and sports stories, features and columns, shot photos and video and designed pages.

The Alpena News was my first intern experience. I wrote local news coverage and shot photos and multimedia. I also stayed the night in the publisher’s spare bedroom in between shifts.
